What is Microcement?
Microcement (also written micro cement) is a cement-polymer coating applied in ultra-thin layers of just 2–3mm, bonding directly to almost any existing surface — tile, concrete, timber, or plaster — without the need for costly rip-out. We install it across residential and commercial interiors throughout London.
Because it is applied by hand in continuous coats, microcement leaves no grout lines or joints. The result is a smooth, contemporary surface that reads as one uninterrupted plane across floors, walls, and even worktops.
It is fully waterproof when correctly sealed, making micro cement a popular choice for wet rooms and bathrooms, as well as kitchens, hallways, and commercial interiors where a seamless, minimalist look is required.

Our Microcement Process
Microcement is unforgiving of poor preparation, so we assess the substrate, moisture conditions, and movement joints before any coating is applied.
Substrate Preparation
Assessment and preparation of the existing surface, including primer selection and reinforcement mesh where needed.
Base & Reinforcement
Application of the base coat and fibreglass reinforcement mesh to control movement and prevent cracking.
Microcement Coats
Two to three hand-applied finishing coats, building up the final colour, texture, and seamless surface.
Sealing & Protection
Multi-coat sealant application for full waterproofing and long-term stain and wear resistance.

Cost depends on the area covered, the condition of the existing substrate, and the number of coats required. A wet room or bathroom is typically quoted per project once we've assessed the substrate on-site, while larger floor areas are priced per square metre. Factors like removing old tiles, levelling uneven floors, and detailing around drains or thresholds all affect the final price. We provide a fixed quote after a site visit rather than a generic per-metre rate.
