External Render for New and Existing Buildings
External render forms the protective and finished surface of an elevation. The correct system depends on the substrate, the age and construction of the building, exposure, detailing and the finish required by the project specification.
We install traditional sand and cement render for suitable modern backgrounds and lime render where a period or heritage building requires a more breathable, compatible build-up.
Our work covers new-build and refurbishment projects as well as repairs and complete replacement to period elevations. We coordinate access, sequencing and junction details across individual elevations or multi-level programmes.

We work with traditional sand and cement render, modern silicone renders, and monocouche (one-coat, e.g. K Rend-style) systems, as well as lime render London for period and listed properties that need to breathe.

At Lancaster Gate, Choice Finishes delivered the complete external rendering package from the fifth-floor mansard to ground level across six levels of a live heritage restoration.
The programme required access coordination and a consistent finish across elevations completed months apart, alongside 4,000m² of internal lime plastering and extensive fibrous restoration.
