Venetian Plaster — Lucido
Lateral apartments
A lateral apartment in a Knightsbridge mansion block or converted terrace may run across an entire floor, with long galleries, wide entrance halls and a sequence of reception rooms. Polished plaster gives these spaces continuity. A single tinted Marmorino can run through the whole apartment, or each room can be given its own tone. For showers and wet rooms, Tadelakt is the traditional waterproof lime plaster and works well on curved walls, benches and niches when correctly detailed. Waxed Venetian plaster or Marmorino suits dressing rooms, powder rooms and bathroom walls away from direct water. Where a contemporary, seamless finish is wanted on floors and walls, microcement is the alternative.
Choosing between Lucido, Marmorino and Spatulata
Lucido is the highest-polish Venetian finish, burnished to a near-mirror sheen, and it suits feature walls, bars and smaller rooms. Marmorino is matt to satin and more forgiving across large areas and ceilings. Spatulata leaves trowel marks visible for a more organic texture. The right choice depends on the light, the sheen you want and the rest of the material palette, so we sample against your joinery, stone and fabrics on site.
